Another food eatery has opened at
Queen’s Street, 3rd floor of Queensbay Mall, Penang (opposite to
Habanero Mexican Dining). Porridge Time has opened more than 10 outlets in the
whole Malaysia and the one in Queensbay Mall is their 11th outlet
and also, the first outlet in Penang. Porridge Time basically serves a wide
range of porridge (Frog Porridge, Seafood Porridge, Pork Porridge, Chicken
Porridge etc) with some side dishes. Prices are reasonable and service was
attentive.
I had Porridge Time Dry Noodles (Rm
8.50) which comes with some Deep Fried Fish Cakes and Beancurd Skin, topped
with some Braised Minced Meat and some Choy Sum too. The noodles were slightly
too dry to my liking but it was flavorful and delectable. The noodles were
surprisingly springy too. However, I find the Deep Fried Fish Cakes were
slightly too salty for me. It would be even better if they could come out with
their own version of hot Chili Sauce for the extra kick. Nevertheless, it’s a
very good option for those who prefer noodles over porridge.
We also had an extra order of Blanched
Hong Kong Choy Sum (Rm 6.50) which came in perfectly cooked, with a slight
touch of Soy Sauce and Oil; simply delicious. However, when I was biting
through the greens, I have accidentally munched on some sand which proves that
they did not wash the vegetables thoroughly.
