Housed in the bustling heart of Georgetown, around the Heritage Area, The Mugshot Cafe has gained a recent fame in serving its unique and freshly made Bagel Muffins as well as their home-made Yogurts. Their Bagel Muffins sell like hotcakes especially during weekends, I was even told that they will be sold out before noon (on weekends), so be there as early as possible if you are visiting the place during weekends. The Mugshot Cafe is just beside Rainforest Bakey at Chulia Street, stone throw away from the Hainanese Restaurant- Sin Kheng Aun. Choices are rather limited and prices are on the expensive side (the drinks particularly) for some but their Bagel Muffins are definitely something shall not be missed.
Bagel Muffin with Bacon & Egg (Rm 10), the warm and crunchy Bagel was heavenly, it was crispy on the outer layer and fluffy inside. Poppy seeds and Sesame seeds will be sprinkled before they were baked. The Bagel Muffin will be reheated in their oven using wood fire before serving to ensure crunchiness. The Bacon & Egg came in a shape of cup formed by the Bacon; Mayonnaise will be then added to the egg, certainly a delectable choice for a healthy brunch.
Bagel Muffin with Corned Beef & Rocket (Rm 10), the Bagel has a spread of Mustard instead of butter. The overall flavor was good but I would personally prefer a thicker spread of the Corned Beef for a meatier bite. Do note that the portion was rather small and might not be sufficient for big eaters, nevertheless, it makes a very good snack or a light meal for afternoon tea. The best part is, you can actually purchase the Bagel Muffins at next door (Rainforest Bakery) if you like.
I also had this Kiwi & Honey Yogurt (Rm 10) which I found it slightly pricier. I was told that the Yogurt will be freshly made on a daily basis. It has some sliced Kiwi added and a generous amount of Honey added too. However, I found it too sweet to my liking. It will be better if they could provide their customers the honey separately so they can adjust the amount of honey added accordingly.
