Chinese New Year, a festive season for reunion of family and friends; justifying the occasion, sumptuous treats are must. To welcome the auspicious Chinese New Year, Dragon-i has once again come out with the traditional Treasure Pots offer. From 1st of December 2013 until 28th of February 2014, customers get to dine-in or take away both Dragon-i's Prosperity Abalone Treasure Pot and the Signature Prosperity Abalone Treasure Pot.
In hopes of serving authentic and good Treasure Pots, Dragon-i has invited the famous Iron Chef of Hong Kong- Mr. Leong Man-To for a sharing session in the making of traditional Treasure Pots. As for Dragon-i's Treasure Pots, they were meticulously co-designed by Chefs who hail from Shanghai and Hong Kong. For customers' convenience, Dragon-i is taking a step further by offering take away where the Treasure Pots will be contained in a high quality steel pot and can be easily reheated before serving. The take away is ONLY available until 30th January 2014 before 3pm.

The deftly seasoned and well-cooked Prosperity Abalone Treasure Pot is bundled with 18 delicacies: Braised Premium Chilean Abalones/ 蚝皇扣智利特级12头鲍鱼 (12 heads), Sea Cucumber/ 黄玉刺参, Japanese Dried Scallops/ 日本原粒干贝, Japanese Dried Oysters/ 日本原粒蚝豉, Premium Mushrooms/ 特级AA茶花菇, Pantai Remis Fresh Sea Prawns/ 班台新鲜明虾, Roasted Chicken/ 烧鸡, Braised Pork Belly/ 卤花肉, Golden Money Bags/ 黄金富带, Pork Balls/ 猪肉丸, Dried Bean-curd Skin/ 支竹, Yam/ 芋头, Black Moss/ 发菜, Chinese Cabbage/ 津白, Broccoli/ 西兰花, Deep Fried Bean-curd Skin/ 素鹅, and Radish/ 白萝卜. Raw Salmon Fish with Jelly Fish Yu Sheng/ 三文鱼海蜇捞生
(Rm 48++ for half portion; Rm 68++ for full portion)
To add a festive and welcoming touch for customers, Dragon-i is also offering customers with its Yee Sang- Raw Salmon Fish with Jelly Fish Yu Sheng/ 三文鱼海蜇捞生. Some notable ingredients are Pomelo, julienned Carrots, Pickled Garlic etc. The sweet and sour concoction is definitely a good starter to whet up your appetite!
Braised Pork Knuckle Shanghainese Style/ 横财就手红烧大元蹄 (Rm 68++)
Pork lovers will be weak in the knees for this delicious Braised Pork Knuckle; little effort was necessary to detach the soft and tenderly cooked Pork Knuckle. It also has a perfect ratio of juicy tender meat to the creamy fats. I thought the dish might be too heavy and surfeit but I was wrong, the real draw of this dish was the thick and rich sauce, well-clung over the meat, completing the dish with a discernible sweetness. A dish that will be perfect spooned over rice.
Fried Glutinous Rice with Waxed Meat/ 生炒腊味饭 (Rm 48++ for 2-3 pax)
Their Fried Glutinous Rice with Waxed Meat was a tummy pleaser; generous portion of sliced Waxed Chinese Pork Sausages/ and Supreme Preserved Liver Sausages as well as premium-quality Mushrooms were added to the dish. As you sink your teeth into the rice, you will be greeted with a strong and unique aroma of the Waxed Meat. However, I thought the dish will be even better if the Glutinous Rice was softer in texture and the absence of the "Wok" aroma left me underwhelmed.
Water Chestnut Cream with Sea Coconut/ 清润海底椰炖马蹄露 (Rm 8++ per serving)
Complete your meal with a pleasingly comforting dessert- Water Chestnut Cream with Sea Coconut; eat the well-chilled dessert after the meal and it truly fits the definition of refreshing. It was sweet but not overly so. The addition of Water Chestnuts added a bit of crunch and a more layered dimension. A perfect remedy to counter the sweltering heat in the country.
