At the end of the biggest roundabout near to Queensbay Mall is a paradise to seafood lovers. The Muslim-friendly place is commonly known as Hammer Bay, it serves some of the freshest daily catch ranging from fishes, squids or crustaceans. While you are in the vicinity, try not to miss this little kiosk nestled within Hammer Bay. Penang Paris Cafe is manned by a very friendly, chatty French-Muslim whom decided to move to Penang; which according to him, he serves the most authentic French Crepes at the cheapest rate you could find in Penang. This is just the humble beginning of his new business and thus, he is offering the best that he could; do not expect a very comprehensive menu but rather, a few variants of French Crepes.
Brahim's signature dish- La Banana (Rm 13 with a complimentary Mango Ice Cream). The paper thin French Crepe was made to order; chewy but soft. A generous spread of Nutella brought from France was then added to the Crepe and finished with some fresh Bananas. Inevitably sweet but the smooth and nutty Chocolate paired well with Banana while the French Crepe added another layer of dimension to the duo. Best enjoyed warm. The contrary, a scoop of icy cold Mango Ice Cream was there to give a push to the dessert to a whole new different level. Cold and warm contrast runs in the mouth with Mango, Banana and Chocolate flavors vying for attention; the combination spoke for itself. I will definitely come back for more.
