I have mixed feelings towards the word "Classroom" and the interior decor at The Classroom Cafe is a reminiscent of my schooling days- Blackboard, Chalk, Test Tubes and of course, odd mathematical equations (p/s: I hate the school uniform but who likes it anyway). Blank papers are attached to the table and guests can draw anything on the paper using the crayons provided. The gimmick is there but the menu has nothing interesting but some localized Western food as well as some snacks. Good for novelty sake but they need to come out with a more sturdy menu to retain the customers.
It was fun playing with The Classroom Cafe's Laboratory Set (Rm 15) which comes in around four or five different types of Soda. The Soda flavors include Sarsi, 100 Plus, Pineapple, Peppermint and some other flavors we could not discern. The Laboratory Set is only available for guests dining in the private room (a minimum order of Rm 60 is required to sit in the private room). Nothing astonishing but we had fun mixing and matching different flavors of Soda to come out with new flavors. However, we thought they were quite sweet and decided not to finish them.
Orange Cake (Rm 13.90) did not manage to convince us with its unattractive presentation in the beginning but fortunately, it tasted better than our expectations. It was sweet, with a velvety smooth, creamy, moist and a hint of zesty Orange flavor. The Chef brilliantly sandwiched bits of Longan in the cake and I thought that changes the entire texture of the cake without affecting on the flavor. Not too shabby.
Cappuccino (Rm 9.50- Hot)
Ice Blended Hazelnut (Rm 11.50)
Peach Green Tea (Rm 6.50)
