Shortly after turning into Kimberley Street from Carnavon Street, you will find a curious Koay Teow Th'ng stall surrounded by regular patrons as early as 8 in the morning. Tucked beside a small corner of Lorong Ngah Aboo, a small alley beside Kimberley Street; the Duck Meat Koay Teow Th'ng has been in business for many years and has since garnered an apperciate following. Some tables and chairs are available, neatly placed by the road side. The price, however, seems to be slightly higher than most Koay Teow Th'ngs in town.
A bowl of tummy-warming Duck Meat Koay Teow Th'ng (Rm 5/ Large), luscious smooth Flat Rice Noodles beautifully swimming in the clear, sweet meaty broth. However, the measly "topping" was rather a disappointment. It was nothing but some thinly sliced Duck and Pork meat with a couple of Fish Balls. The broth was decent- sweet and seasoned with an agreeable amount of flavor. Not bad but not entirely great either.
A nice addition to your bowl of Koay Teow Th'ng, go for their Duck Webbed Feet (Rm 5). They have played a twist of change here, the broth has a significant amount of Angelica Root/ Dang Gui added. The herbaceous flavor was strong, making the broth delectable yet unique in its own way. Beautifully cooked till fall-apart tender, little effort was necessary to enjoy them. Perfect for feet-aficionados.
