Nestled amidst the serene neighborhood of Sungai Ara, Three Kingdom Koay Teow Th'ng proves to be one of the favorites by the locals. Business is brisk even on usual days but the place will be thronged with crowd especially on weekends as they served Herbal Duck Mee Sua. While we did not think the Koay Teow Th'ng here is especially outstanding or out-of-the-world good, we thought that it might be good idea to share out this simple, casual place to find a bowl of pleasing, heart-warming Koay Teow Th'ng. To find Three Kingdom Koay Teow Th'ng, turn in Jalan Sungai Ara 1 from Jalan Tengah, you should be able to find Ah Niu Wanton Mee on your right. On the first junction, turn right again to Jalan Sungai Ara 2. Three Kingdom Koay Teow Th'ng should appear on your right shortly.
Three Kingdom's rendition of Koay Teow Th'ng (Rm 5/ Large) comes in a simple, rich, sweet-meaty broth that exhibits Duck and Chicken notes; a reflection of the tedious process in accentuating full flavors of the poultry. The compulsory Fish Balls, Koay Teow and sliced Meat (Duck and Chicken) were seen in action; the clear broth was gratifying, best enjoyed with chopped Bird Eye's Chilies.
We had an extra side order of their Blanched Chicken (Rm 4) but it was nothing out of the ordinary. We asked for Chicken Breast. Not only did they not serve any Chili Paste but the Chicken was rather bland and tasteless. Not quite a good choice to order I guess.
