Rejoyce Cafe @ Vantage Desiran Tanjung, Tanjung Tokong, Penang.

Need to grab a quick cup of Joe while waiting for your children to come back from tuition classes? Try Rejoyce Cafe. Operate next to a training centre, Rejoyce Cafe at Vantage Desiran Tanjung (3rd Floor) serves a wide range of delicate nibbles and home-made sweet delights. The daily fresh bakes are made from scratch and will be changed everyday; ask for recommendation and they are proud to share with you the in house's specialties. It may not have the perfect setting but a good place to savor their range of earnest, wholehearted fresh bakes and pastries.

If you are looking for something more substantial, go for their White Chicken Chili with Bread Bowl (Rm 13). Chicken filling sheathed in a bread bowl, served with Cheese and Sour Cream. The bread was fresh and fluffy, we were told that most diners would not eat the crust but we can't help but to chomp down the "casing". We love the bread, for being fluffy, soft inside and crispy, crusty on the outside. Sour Cream and Cheese enhanced the flavor further by introducing a milky, creamy dimension to the meat filling. Another option to try: Roasted Tomato Basil with Bread Bowl for Rm 11.

An order value for money- Long Black and Muffin Set (Rm 9.50), Pineapple Muffin was the only option available on our visit. It was soft and crumbly, with a comfortably sleek sweetness. The spotlight of the day, however, goes to Sniker Doodle Doughnut Hole (Rm 1/ each). Unlike the usual Fried Doughnut, it was not greasy at all; it was well-coated with a generous amount of Cinnamon Powder and Sugar. It tasted exactly like what I had back in Australia, a perfect dibble for your afternoon tea.
