Dari Cafe @ Lembah Permai, Tanjung Bungah, Penang.

Dive into the multitude Korean options at Dari Cafe, one of the many tenants at Permai F&B Village; a stone's throw distance away from TAR University College Penang. Their offerings are extensive yet not so grueling to the wallet, perhaps it was meant to cater to the students nearby but we see the place as an excellent place for to appease your Korean-food cravings. Tucked away from the bustling street of Permai, the Permai F&B Village is well-hidden amidst the serene neighborhood; seemingly inviting for the adventurous eaters. It can be hard to tell that the place serves Korean food judging from the exterior, the place is beautifully decorated to cottage-style cafe but the menu does not even carry a hint of Western-element. While Dari does serve proper meals but we were there to try on their range of Korean desserts...

Have a taste of Korean's traditional sweet treat- Chapssal Tteok (Rm 10), a rare offering (in Penang) made from Glutinous Rice flour, possesses the texture akin to Japanese Mochi; was lightly pan fried till perfection and served with sweetened Red Bean and Brown Sugar Syrup with crushed Peanuts. The texture of the Tteok was perfect- crispy outside and chewy-resilient inside; paired flawlessly with the sweet elements. Inevitably greasy, the dessert may be a little monotonous for one to finish it entirely on his/her own. We'd recommend sharing this dessert together with a few diners.

Beat the sultry tropical heat by having a serving of their Milk Tea Bingsu (Rm 10)- coarsely shaved Ice drenched over Milk Tea, served with a scoop of Vanilla Ice Cream and jeweled with a generous amount of Granola, Walnuts and Peanuts. The icy cold concoction was refreshing yet, no saccharine sweet. It carried a sleek of milky flavor but the nutty element overpowered the entire dessert. We were perfectly good with that (who does not like Nuts anyway?) though. The serving portion might be a little too generous for one but it is nevertheless, a contenting dessert to be shared by two.
