The name of this place sure suggests a hint of defect and impairment but stepping in the place gives you another impression. The place appears like an adult playground rather than a cafe- comfy swing, Japanese Anime figurines and anime theme songs playing as background; sure sounds like a haven for Otaku. The setting is quite standard-average with some industrial elements but the menu has got nothing related to Japanese anime at all (not even cats). They have a small menu that offers a simple but inexpensive standard cafe fare; though nothing is overly exciting here, it seems like the place has garnered a loyal following from the neighborhood.
A picturesque dish- Shasuuka Baked Egg (Rm 13) is one of their signature dishes. Classic Bolognese sauce with minced Chicken topped a pair of Baked Eggs... dished out in a casserole. Some odd looking ersatz Wholemeal Toasts were also served in lieu of artisan Bread (replace with Sourdough perhaps?). The concoction was toothsome, we love the hint of spiciness here, a flavor that most Malaysians would be accustomed to. It was delicately salted to the right spot (but sprinkles of Cheese Powder would be great) but a tad pity that the Eggs were slightly overcooked (I'd prefer flowing Yolks). Some refinements needed for this dish.
To finish, we had a slice of their Humming Bird (Rm 10) to share. We were told that it contained Pineapple but there was a nary of them, not even a hint. Cream Cheese was thinly spread and topped with some nutty elements (Almonds). The absence of Pineapple makes the cake a little less successful but it was overall, at its acceptable state. The cake was moist and soft; the best part... the cake was delicately sweeten so it was not too heavy for us. Not too shabby but just another slice of decent cake in my opinion.
