Ah Gu Pan Mee is not the conventional Pan Mee place that serves Pan Mee in the neighborhood; it churns out atypical but lip-smacking flavors. If you think Pan Mee can only be served with clear Anchovy broth or dressed in dark Soy sauce, think again. Ah Gu, the Pan Mee specialist is creative at churning out Pan Mee... differently, some of the notable choices include Clams Pan Mee, Scallion Pan Mee and the never-out-of-fashion Pork Lard Pan Mee. Opened in less than a month, Ah Gu has garnered an appreciate following.

Clams Pan Mee/ 蛤蜊板面 (Rm 8.50)
Clams Pan Mee was a pleasant surprise, we were caught in a whiff of boozy-Chinese wine aroma when the dish was served to our table. The crystal clear broth with a handful of Clams swimming around was most toothsome, the seafood-sweetness can be easily recognized. Flavors were clean and easy on the palate. Noodles on the other hand, were just alright. We did not find them outstanding, smooth but sans the al-dente texture. The broth was jaw-droppingly good, we see ourselves coming back for more. Scallion Pan Mee with Minced Pork was of standard-average, we thought the Scallion element was weak and overshadowed by the savory Minced Pork.... perhaps our expectation towards the dish was different. Not too shabby but can be better.
