In the effort of showcasing SPOON's (G Hotel Kelawai's in house restaurant) amazing spread of Sushi, the management of G Hotel Kelawai organized a Sushi and Cocktail-making contest for the members of media. Sushi is one of the international dishes featured on the buffet line in SPOON, though the process of making Sushi seems easy, it actually requires a lot of practices and experiences. A live demonstration on how to roll the perfect Sushi and Cocktail-mixing session by the professional Chef and Mixologist were amongst the activities lined up that day.
If you are keen to savor the Sushi and perhaps, other delectable dishes from the buffet spread, head over to SPOON for the themed Gourmet International Buffet Dinner.

Yours truly mixing the Chili Lada Cocktail
Mr. Preetran, G Hotel Kelawai's Mixologist
Shortly after the Sushi making contest, a live demonstration was done by Mr. Preetran, G Hotel Kelawai's Mixologist and the Cocktail we were preparing was Chili Lada; a delicate concoction that packs a powerful punch. It consists of 30 ml of Vodka, 30 ml of Cranberry Juice, 30 ml of Passion Fruit syrup, a halved Lime and a halved Chili. The Chili and Lime were first pounded to extract the flavors; a generous amount of Ice was then added... followed by the remaining ingredients. Though the shaking part seems effortless but the key is to chill and mix the concoction. The end result was a refreshing glass of Cocktail, which comprised of spicy, acidic, sweet with bitter end notes.
