If you are making an effort to change your lunch roster and try to eat up more greens, Salad Farm is probably one of the options that you can explore. It is one of the few salad bars in Penang that literally offers loads of greens on your plate. The place has been around for quite some time and is popular amongst the weight-watchers and health-conscious. It is hidden in one corner of the ESH Landscaping at Waterfall (Jalan Kebun Bungah). The whole place is under one big marque... air-conditioned and spacious. Like the name suggested, the menu revolves around greens and salad, with a few healthy options on the line.
Mush Much Salad- Chicken (Rm 17.90)
SF Breakfast Set (Rm 19.90)
Singo Pear (Rm 9.90/ cold)
We had one of their signature salads- Mush Much Salad, served with Cajun Grilled Chicken and Balsamic Vinaigrette. The salad consisted of roasted Pumpkin, Corns, stir fried Shimeiji Mushrooms, roasted Cauliflower and Fusilli Pasta... on a bed of greens. The flavor combo was amazing and the bite was multi-dimensional. The Corns were essential here... for the burst of juice and a hint of sweetness. The Chicken however, was a little too dry and rough to our liking. We also had their SF Breakfast Set... Sausage, Scrambled Egg, stir fried Shitake, baked Beans, Tuna and some Cucumber salad; which turned out to be disappointingly average. The Toast was dry and the Sausage was a lackluster. Our suggestion? Skip the Breakfast set and go straight to their Signature Salad series... better value and more satisfaction.
